Sri Sita devi  Astotharam

Translated by
P.R.Ramachander

(Goddess  Sita  was found by king Janaka  while he was ploughing   the field to conduct a fire Sacrifice . Hence she  is considered as the daughter of Goddess  earth. She married Rama   and then went to forest  along with Rama  .There she was abducted  by Ravana. Lord Rama located her  with help of Hanuman, killed  Ravana   and then  Rama was crowned as  the king  Of Ayodhya   and Sita his queen.  She is considered  as the  female deity   controlling agricultural fertility by some devotees. There are individual  temples for located in  Nepal, Haryana , Bihar , Wyanad district of  Kerala as well as in Sri Lanka .Ofcourse she is there as   the goddess wife of Rama in all his temples, In Janaki Mandir in Nepal  , they believe that  her marriage was celebrated there and his marriage is enacted there every year.
