The Cheetah Mobile-owned Antutu Benchmark has released the Global Top 10 Best Performing Midrange and Flagship Phones for January 2021. Xiaomi's Snapdragon 888-powered Mi 11 topped the flagship category. On the other hand, Kirin 985-powered HONOR 30 dominated the mid-range segment.

The phones they included in the Top 10 best-performing Android smartphones list for January 2021 must have at least 1,000 units running Antutu V8 from January 1 to January 31, 2021. The average score was then used for the top 10 list of both mid-range and flagship category.

First, let's start with the flagship segment. Xiaomi's newest Mi 11 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 grabbed the top spot with an average score of 707,306 points. One of the key factors that contribute to this result was its processor. Snapdragon 888 was the industry's first chipset with Cortex-X1 core, and it is also the first PC-oriented 8cx Gen 2 chip to feature Hypervisor.

The Kirin 9000-based Huawei Mate 40 Pro is the runner-up with an average score of 648,929 points. The Asus ROG Phone 3 with Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset came third place, garnering an average Antutu score of 647,442 points.

Samsung phones with the latest Exynos 2100 got into the list but not among the top three; they only ranked 4th to 6th place. The rest of the smartphones on the premium list is dominated by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus or Snapdragon 865 chipsets.

The Honor 30 with Kirin 985 chipset tops the mid-range segment with an average score of 401,941 points. It was followed by Huawei Nova 7, which achieves an average Antutu score of 399,154 points. MediaTek Dimensity 820-powered Redmi 10X 5G took third place with an average score of 394,949 points.

Another Kirin-based unit, the Huawei Nova 7i, entered the chart. The rest in the midrange list were Snapdragon and MediaTek models.

Compared to Antutu's List of Best Performing Android Phones for November 2020, this month's list has a noticeable higher average score. Some brands don't make it to the list, like iQOO, Black Shark, and POCO.
