List of Initial Areas to experience DITO services

The third major telco player DITO Telecommunity released the list of areas in the Visayas and Mindanao where its network services will be initially available.

DITO announced that its commercial rollout is on March 8, 2021, in key areas in the southern Philippines.

Below is the list of initial areas to experience DITO services starting Monday, March 8:

Metro Cebu

• Cebu City
• Carcar
• Consolacion
• Danao
• Liloan
• Mandaue
• Minglanilla
• Naga
• San Fernando
• Talisay

Metro Davao

• Davao City
• Panabo
• Tagum
• Carmen
• Digos

According to DITO chief administrative officer Adel Tamano, DITO's services are expected to be available nationwide by the middle of the year.

The telco announced its commercial launch date a day after the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) reported that DITO passed its technical audit after surpassing its internet speed and population coverage commitment for its first year.

Based on the technical audit report conducted by independent auditor R.G. Manabat & Co., DITO's first-year national population coverage reached 37.48% or equivalent to 37,845,315 based on the 2015 national census population of 100.98 million reaching coverage of 8,860 barangays.

DITO's commitment in its first year of operations was to deliver 37.03% national population coverage within at least 27 Mbps of minimum average broadband speed.

The audit report also showed that the minimum average broadband speeds were recorded at 507.5 Mbps for 5G and 85.9 Mbps for 4G. Internet download speeds achieved 102.4 Mbps for 4G and 769.1 Mbps for 5G near base stations, while those far from base stations experienced speeds of 64.4 Mbps for 4G and 316.5 Mbps for 5G.

DITO Telecommunity has been assigned the following digits or prefixes for their subscribers: 0991, 0992, 0993, 0994, 0895, 0896, 0897, and 0898.

DITO, formerly Mislatel, was awarded a permit to operate as the third telecommunications player of the country in July 2019.

The Dito consortium is composed of Dennis Uy's Udenna Corporation, Udenna's subsidiary Chelsea Logistics Holdings Inc., and Chinese state-owned China Telecommunications Corporation.
