Netflix is a subscription-based online video streaming platform that offers high-definition (HD) content for most TV shows and movies. Thus, it needs a fast and stable internet connection to have a seamless viewing experience. Netflix has released the February 2021 leaderboard for internet service providers in the Philippines based on their performance.

The ISP Speed Index of Netflix measures which Internet Service Providers in the specified country have the best Netflix viewing experience during prime time. It is not a measure of overall performance for other services/data that may travel across the specific ISP network. The list is based on data collected from subscribers using the service.

According to the February 2021 Netflix ISP Speed Index for the Philippines, Globe Telecom and Converge ICT Solution tied on the top spot at 3.2Mbps. Both telcos were also rank 1 in the January 2021 report.

PLDT grabbed second place, recording 3.0 Mbps, followed by SKYCable at 2.8 Mbps. The Laguna-based telco Royal Cable took the last spot with a speed of 2.6 Mbps.

The speed index is significant for streaming Netflix because Netflix's videos are best viewed on an internet network that works well on categories like speed, latency, jitter, and packet loss. Otherwise, users would have video streaming-related issues such as buffering, pixelization, among others.
