Valorant Astra Abilities and Gameplay

Astra is the 15th agent by the popular first-person shooting game Valorant. She is the fourth agent in the controller class, joining Brimstone, Omen, and Viper. Astra is of Ghanaian origin and uses her ability to manipulate space and time to control the battlefield.

This agent has the ability to shift in between the physical and astral forms to place stars across the map. Astra can distract enemies with a concussive blast, blind them with a smoke cloud, pull them close and make them more vulnerable to damage, as well as cut the entire map in half. Below is the list of Astra's abilities and gameplay.

Valorant Astra Abilities

Ability 1: Gravity Well (C)

Place Stars first in Astral Form (X).

Pressing "C" activates a Star to form a Gravity Well. All players in the area are pulled toward the center before it explodes, making all players still trapped inside vulnerable and make them take more damage. It has 4 seconds effectivity and 12 seconds cooldown.

Ability 2: Nova Pulse (Q)

Place Stars first in Astral Form (X).

Pressing "Q" activates a Star to detonate a Nova Pulse. The Nova Pulse charges for a while before it strikes, concussing all players in its area. It has 12 seconds cooldown.

Ability 3: Nebula (E)

Place Stars first in Astral Form (X).

Pressing "E" activates a Star to transform it into a Nebula (smoke grenade) that lasts for 15 seconds. It has a 14 seconds cooldown.

Ability 4: Dissipate (F)

Pressing "F" activates a Star to Dissipate it, returning it to Astra's inventory to be placed in a new location after a delay. Dissipate also leaves behind a fake Nebula for about 1 second at the Star's location before returning. It has an 8 seconds cooldown.

Ability 5: Astral Form / Cosmic Divide (X)

Activate Astral Form by pressing "X," where you can place Stars with your primary fire key (left-click) on any part of the map. Astra will leave her physical body behind in favor of a top-down view of the map. Her physical body will be completely vulnerable in this form. Placed stars can be reactivated later, transforming them into Nova Pulses, Nebula, or Gravity Well.

Players can use a maximum of 5 stars. There are 2 free stars at the start; buying other stars will cost 200 credits each.

When Cosmic Divide is charged (7 points), use your secondary fire (right-click) in Astral Form to begin aiming it, then your primary fire (left-click) to select two locations. An Infinity Cosmic Divide connects the two points you select. Cosmic Divide blocks visual lines of sight and bullets and heavily dampens audio.

Astra Gameplay

Astra needs to be played conservatively and safe to get the most use of her skills. Players who are willing to play this agent need to play backside on defense and be the last person on offense. A lot of her abilities can affect other teammates negatively as well.
