The League of Legends: Wild Rift Southeast Asia (SEA) Championship 2021 will take place from September 14 until October 3. Eight regions will be participating in the regional tournament, including the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Singapore.

Wild Rift SEA Championship 2021 Overview

Wild Rift SEA Championship 2021 is a major regional championship and the final part of the Icon Series. The tournament will be held online.

Update: 20 teams from Southeast Asia are qualified for the tournament. They will compete for a share of the USD 200,000 (~ PHP 10 million) prize pool and two spots to the inaugural Wild Rift World Championship 2021. Initially, Gamer Koala Team (GKT) from Oceania was included, but due to connectivity issues, they withdrew and received USD 10,000. On the other hand, the top two teams in the region will earn a spot to compete in Wild Rift: Horizon Cup 2021.

Game Format

Here's the game format for the 2021 Wild Rift SEA Championship.

Play-ins

• 12 Play-in squads are split into 3 brackets of 4 teams
• All matches will be in a double-elimination format, best-of-five (Bo5) series
• Top teams from 3 brackets will advance to Group Stage
• Runners-up of each bracket goes to the Last Chance Qualifier

Play-in Last Chance Qualifier

• 3 bracket runners-up are assigned to one group
• Three teams will compete in a single-round robin, best-of-two series
• The top two teams will play in a best-of-five series
• The winner advances to Group Stage to replace Gamer Koala Team (GKT)

Group Stage

• 12 Group Stage teams (including 8 Direct Invites, 3 Play-ins Winners, and 1 Last Chance Qualifier Winner) are split into 2 groups of 6 teams
• All matches will be in a single-round robin format, best-of-two (Bo2) series
• The top 4 from each group will advance to Playoffs

Playoffs

• The Playoffs stage will feature 8 teams
• Double-elimination format, teams are seeded based on group stage performances:
• Group Winners: Upper Bracket Round 2
• 2nd/3rd: Upper Bracket Round 1
• 4th: Lower Bracket Round 1
• Upper Bracket matches and Lower Bracket finals are played in a best-of-five (Bo5) series
• Lower Bracket round 1 to 3 matches are played in a best-of-three (Bo3) series
• Grand Finals is played in a best-of-seven (Bo7) series
