Wild Rift team Fennel Adversity enter Sibol qualifiers

Team Sibol announced Friday that only one Wild Rift team received a direct invite for Phase 2 of its qualifiers.

The lone invited team is Fennel Adversity. Carl Jioseppe "FLA Calm" Lacsam, Domino "FLA Domeng" Magbanua, John Phillex "FLA Dani" Bulanadi, Maynard "FLA Arise" Limon, Miguel Vincent "FLA Arisen" Pison, and Raphael Alfonzo "FLA Rafe" Umali will headline Fennel Adversity's Wild Rift lineup for Sibol qualifiers.

Melchor "FLA LionatioN" de Castro Jr. will serve as their coach.

According to Sibol, Phase 1 is open qualifiers to different teams. Phase 2 is the playoffs stage, during which the top eight teams will face off, with the Grand Champion serving as the representative.

The Philippine national esports team will hold qualifiers for three esports titles, including CrossFire, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and Wild Rift (men's and women's division). Meanwhile, the top teams in the PUBG Mobile Pro League Season 5 will be in consideration for Sibol.

League of Legends: Wild Rift is one of the 8 esports titles to be played in the SEA Games in Hanoi, Vietnam, which will be held in May 2022.

SEA Games 2019 introduced esports as an official medal event. However, Wild Rift is not yet released at that time. Thus, it will be the first time the mobile MOBA to be included in the biennial regional multi-sport event.

To recall, Fennel Adversity placed 2nd in the Philippines Pro Gaming League 2021 Fall, which gave them a slot for SEA Championship Play-Ins.

Mobile MOBA game Wild Rift is a modified version of the PC game League of Legends. Prior to its initial release on October 7, 2020, it held a limited alpha launch in the Philippines and Brazil in June 2020.
