Chinese game developer miHoYo has announced that the Genshin Impact 2.5 update is set to release on February 16, 2022. The latest Genshin Impact 2.5 patch, dubbed "When the Sakura Bloom," includes a new character, new enemies, several events with rich rewards, and more. Check out the highlights below.

New Character: Yae Miko

The latest update brings one new playable character, namely Yae Miko.

Yae Miko, the new five-star Electro Catalyst user, is the head shrine maiden of the Grand Narukami Shrine. Miko is capable of dealing both constant damage off-field and high burst damage on-field thanks to her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst.

New Enemies: Shadowy Husk family and new Trounce Domain opponent

Here are the new foes that players will encounter in the latest patch.

In Inazuma, enemies continue to appear. Players may face Standard Bearers, Line Breakers, and Defenders of the Shadowy Husk family beneath the ocean in Enkanomiya, each type with different weapons, elements, and abilities. For example, if the Standard Bearer attacks a shielded character, it will build shields for itself and nearby Shadowy Husks.

Meanwhile, as Raiden Shogun's Story Quest returns, a fearsome new Trounce Domain enemy appears, promising to test players with "intimidating combat mechanics."

New Events

The following are some of the events that will greet players in Genshin patch 2.5.

Three Realms Gateway Offering – This event will challenge gamers with an area based on Enkanomiya that is tormented by an unknown evil. Once within, characters will continue to absorb corrosive darkness. A special device known as the Bokuso Box will be distributed to aid in resisting the corrosive darkness, gaining new abilities, and defeating certain enemies. The Bokuso Box will level up when you open treasures, unlock Waypoints and fulfill exploration objectives in the event area. The event will run throughout Version 2.5, offering players sufficient opportunity to thoroughly explore every location and collect valuable rewards like Primogems and the new 4-star catalyst weapon, Oathsworn Eye.

Divine Ingenuity – This event will provide gamers the opportunity to build their own domain. Participants in this event will have the option of customizing their own domains, complete with a choice of terrain, mechanisms, traps, buffs, and completion criteria. Additionally, players may test the domain designs of other players.

Players can also expect more events such as Of Drink A-Dreaming (drink mixing minigame), Hyakunin Ikki (free-for-all fighting tournament), and Overflowing Mastery (bonus domain rewards).

New Concept Art for Chasm

In the recent Version 2.5 Special Program, miHoYo revealed the collection of concept arts showing the Chasm.

Players will be able to explore this all-new map extension in Liyue, beginning with Version 2.6.
