Globe's 5G network saw a massive 27x increase in monthly data traffic in 2021, growing at a rate of up to 35.2 percent month-on-month, with the National Capital Region (NCR), Cebu, and Davao del Sur serving the most data traffic nationwide. Globe 5G network served up to 6.71 petabytes of data in 2021.
According to Globe, the growth in data traffic resulted from their massive improvement in the 5G network rollout in key areas. Additionally, Globe has introduced 5G-specific data promos and affordable 5G devices to make the service more accessible.
Globe had over 1.62 million devices connected to its 5G network as of end-December 2021, covering 96 percent of the NCR and 84 percent of key VisMin cities.

Globe was ranked among the top 30 operators globally for 5G Global Impact in Opensignal's latest report, "5G Global Mobile Network Experience Awards 2021." Globe users experienced a significant improvement or uplift in mobile experience when switching to 5G from 4G across all four metrics, including download speed, upload speed, games experience, and video experience.
