MPL PH Season 9 Overview

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines Season 9 (MPL PH Season 9) is the first official tournament of the mobile MOBA game in the country in 2022. Eight of the best teams in the country will be competing for the MPL PH S9 championship title.

The regular season will run from February 18 until April 30, 2022. It will be played in a double round-robin best-of-three format, after which the top six squads will advance to the playoffs.

This is the second season since the league adopted the franchise-based system.

MPL PH Season 9 Game Format

Here's the game format for the MPL PH Season 9.

Regular Season

• All matches will be played in a double round-robin best-of-three (Bo3) format.
• A team will earn 3 points for winning 2-0 games; 2 points for winning 2-1; 1 point for losing 1-2; and no points for losing 0-2.
• The top 6 teams will move to the playoffs.

Playoffs

• The playoffs will feature hybrid elimination with some tweaks, as announced by MPL PH.
• In the first two matches of Round 1, the 1st seed will choose the placement of teams ranked 3rd and 4th, while the 3rd seed will decide the placement of teams ranked 5th and 6th.
• The 1st and 2nd seeded teams will be automatically seeded into Round 2.
• All matches, except Grand Finals, will be played in a best-of-five (Bo5) series.
• Grand Finals will feature best-of-seven (Bo7) series.
