Converge tops Netflix ISP Speed Index in the Philippines

Netflix is an online streaming service that requires a fast and stable internet connection to have an uninterrupted viewing experience. Netflix has released the December 2020 leaderboard for internet service providers in the Philippines based on their performance.

The ISP Speed Index of Netflix is built to test which ISPs have the best Netflix viewing experience during prime time. The list is based on data collected from users on the site.

According to the December 2020 Netflix ISP Speed Index, Converge tops the board at 3.4 Mbps. The telco has been leading the Philippine ISP leaderboard for the last six months, as seen from the ISP Leaderboard website.

Meanwhile, Globe and PLDT tied for second place at 3.2 Mbps, followed by SKYCable at 3.0 Mbps. The last spot goes to the Laguna-based telco Royal Cable with a speed of 2.6 Mbps.

Why is the speed index important for streaming Netflix? Because Netflix's videos are best viewed on a strong internet network, which is not just about speed but also about latency, jitter, and packet loss. Otherwise, users would have problems with buffering, pixelization, and so on.
