Genshin Impact to Launch on PlayStation 5 Soon

miHoYo has announced today that Genshin Impact, its popular open-world action RPG, will be launching to PlayStation 5 soon. The latest update is a native version of Sony's next-generation console that features improved graphics and game performance. It was first released in September 2020 for PlayStation 4 and is now available on PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility.

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play open-world action role-playing game set in Teyvat's visually stunning world. The player assumes the role of the enigmatic "Traveler," who embarks on a quest to discover their long-lost sibling's fate while also learning about Teyvat's mysterious secrets.

Players can explore Mondstadt and Liyue Harbor, two of Teyvat's seven major cities, each with its own culture, story, and vast surrounding landscapes, as well as a variety of creatures, monsters, secrets, and hidden treasures for them to discover. As the game progresses, new cities, plots, characters, and seasonal events will be added.

The PlayStation 5 version promises to provide a more immersive and rich open-world experience. The world of Teyvat will look more detailed and vivid than ever before, thanks to 4K resolution and improved textures across the board. Simultaneously, faster loading times will enable players to enjoy a more seamless experience as they travel between the diverse and beautiful in-game environments.

President of miHoYo Forrest Liu shared, "The PlayStation 5 is an ideal platform to enhance the vast open world featuring in Genshin Impact, allowing the team to incorporate more thoughts and ideas into the game, both now and in the future. That's why we've been working to bring the native PlayStation 5 version of the game to our players as soon as we could."

Genshin Impact is coming soon to PlayStation 5. Existing Genshin Impact players on the PlayStation 4 version will be able to continue their adventure on the PlayStation 5 version for a next-gen experience.

Genshin Impact was first released on September 28, 2020, for PS4, PC, Android, and iOS. It was rated T for Teen by the ESRB on PS4, PC, and Google Play, while 12+ on iOS.
