SSS Mobile App adds BPI as new payment channel

The state-run social insurance program Social Security System (SSS), through its mobile app, has added the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) as its new payment channel for members to pay their contributions conveniently.

Individual members, including Self-employed, Voluntary, and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) who have existing BPI accounts, can now pay their contributions in a fast and secure way.

To pay SSS via BPI, SSS members must download the SSS Mobile App on Google Play Store, Apple App Store, or Huawei AppGallery. The app requires log-in credentials as registered in the member's My.SSS account. They can then use the SSS Mobile App to generate a Payment Reference Number (PRN) by selecting the "Generate PRN/SOA" menu.

Members can either download a PDF copy of the PRN or pay right away using the interface's "Pay" menu. They must select "BPI" as the payment method channel, then "OK" to confirm the prompted payment information, and then "PROCEED" to be redirected to the BPI secure site.

Once landed on the BPI authentication page, members must enter their BPI log-in credentials and choose the preferred account. The member's enrolled mobile number will then receive a 6-digit One-Time-PIN, which they must enter to validate and complete the payment process.

Upon successful payment, there will be a notification from BPI and SSS Mobile App showing the date and time of payment, PRN (Payment Reference Number), applicable period, SSS contributions, total contribution, total payment, and transaction reference number. Each successful transaction would result in a P15 convenience fee being deducted from the BPI account.

Besides BPI, SSS members can also pay their contributions using PayMaya or other online transactions provided by partner-banks and collection partners.
