4 Biggest Changes in Dota 2 7.30 update

Dota 2 has released its 7.30 update, complete with patch notes. This patch will be played on the upcoming The International 10 (TI10), Dota 2's top-tier tournament. It also marks the end of the Nemestice event. With that said, check out below the biggest changes in Dota 2 7.30 update.

New neutral items

Valve has made significant changes in the items dropped by neutral creeps. Neutral Creeps now drop five (5) neutral items per tier. Meanwhile, the following neutral items have been entirely removed: Faded Broach, Ballista, Imp Claw, Illusionist's Cape, Minotaur Horn, Orb of Destruction, and Ironwood Tree.

The Pig Pole and Tumbler's Toy are two new Tier 1 items that include some bizarre effects. The Pig Pole transforms the owner into a pig and grants a 10% movement speed, while the Tumbler's Toy propels your unit forward, accompanied by a funny sound effect.

New Tier 2 items include Brigand's Blade and Fae Grenade, both good to use when ganking. Blast Rig is the only new item in the Tier 3 lineup. It deals damage and applies a 100% Blind debuff to all enemies within a 300 range when its owner gets attacked.

For the new Tier 4 items, we have Ascetic's Cap and Witchbane that offer a lot of utility for the players. Defensive item Arcanist's Armor was included in the Tier 5 items.

Hero nerfs

Aghanim's Shard effect on Axe's passive was reworked. Instead of granting Axe's passive an extra chance to proc Counter Helix with his attacks, the item's new effect now causes Counter Helix to apply a six-second stacking debuff that reduces enemies attack damage by 20%. It also increases Counter Helix's chance by 10%.

Besides Axe, other top-picked heroes have also received significant nerfs, such as Winter Wyvern, Broodmother, Dragon Knight, Ancient Apparition, Dark Seer, Dawnbreaker, Luna, and Terrorblade.

Rework on Clinkz and Tinker

Clinkz's Strafe ability has been gone and now replaced by the Burning Barrage. This channeling ability functions similarly to Drow Ranger's Multishot ability but with arrows traveling in a single line. Burning Barrage's maximum level fires six arrows that deal 60% attack damage while applying attack modifiers over a 2.7 second channeling time.

The new Burning Barrage ability has a meager mana cost and a 20-second cooldown at max level. With this skill, Clinkz can now potentially burst down multiple targets that are standing near each other.

Tinker is now more of a defensive hero with his rework. His March of the Machines basic ability has been replaced by Defensive Matrix, which he acquired after purchasing Aghanim's Shard. Additionally, he no longer requires Boots of Travel, as his signature global presence is now provided by a new sub-ability called Keen Conveyance.

Item updates and reworks

Aeon Disk was nerfed. Its already-long cooldown got a longer cooldown with the update. When Aeon Disk's effect is triggered, its cooldown increases by 20 seconds, with a max of 165 seconds.

Meanwhile, Silver Edge, Mage Slayer, and Helm of the Overlord have received significant reworks.

Other highlights of Dota 2 v7.30 patch

  • Second Roshan will not drop cheese, forcing players to wait for the third Roshan.
  • All heroes now have a base HP regeneration of 0.25.
  • Valve has changed the second pick phase in Captain's Mode from the traditional Dire/Radiant/Dire structure to a Snake format. Example: from Dire/Radiant/Dire/Radiant to Dire/Radiant/Radiant/Dire (assuming Radiant is first pick)
  • Cooldown percentage reduction no longer stacks
